World Cup 1975

First Internationally Organized Tournament of International Cricket Council was held in England from June 7 to June 21 1975. It was first event on broad spectrum so it wasn't even thinking of anyone that it would be appriciated on large scale but spectators prove everything wrong and made a huge success . Overall 8 teams participated in it which included 6 test teams of that time( Australia , West Indies , England , Pakistan , India ,New Zeeland ) and two other teams being Sri Lanka and East Africa.
Format was as 60,60 overs for each side , all the matches being played in day time at six different venues and teams were having traditional white kits and ball used was red. 
There were 15 matches on a whole and 2 groups were made each having  4 teams . Top 2 teams from each group were selected for knock out stage that is Semi finals the spectators which watched this game in stadiums were 1,58,000.

An overview for the the world cup can be given by following pictures a thing that was special for world cup was its name on its sponsor company being the Prudential Cup because it was the Prudential Assurance Company who sponsored the world cup
Slowest Inning played by Star Indian Batsman Sunil Gavaskar , he made 36 runs from 174 deliveries with 1 four in his innings while Deniss Amiss played the sensational knock of 137 runs from 147 balls .
Clive Lloyd Was the winning captin and what a moment it was for him to lift the first trophy of World cup.
